The Mazda CX-80 range consists of two model grades – SP and Homura – offering an appealing package to both drivers and passengers alike.
Highlights of the CX-80 SP include leather seat trim (electrically adjustable and with front seat heating), black metallic 20-inch alloy wheels, and LED headlights. Gloss black exterior mirrors combined with black chrome signature wing and honeycomb front grille. Power operated tailgate, 360 View Monitor and the innovative Personalisation System are also standard equipment.
CX-80 SP is available with both Plug-in Hybrid and 3.3 litre six-cylinder petrol hybrid powertrains.
Ascending the range, CX-80 Homura builds on the equipment level of SP by offering a more luxurious package. Exterior design is visually differentiated by a vast panoramic glass sunroof and Adaptive LED headlights.
Driver Personalisation System is upgraded to include facial recognition technology and ideal driving position recommendations. The 360 View Monitor features Mazda’s innovative See-Through View functionality and a high-power Bose audio system offers superior sound quality in all seating positions.
CX-80 Homura is available exclusively with the Plug-in Hybrid powertrain.
A single interior trim option is available for the Mazda CX-80. Black Leather, standard for both SP and Homura grades, features titanium-coloured stitching and is paired to leather-like trim and mesh metal film inserts on instrument panel, centre console and doors.
Hybrid Powertrain Range
As seen in the Mazda CX-60 and CX-90, the Mazda CX-80 is available exclusively with a hybrid powertrain range. Mazda’s PHEV powertrain combines a Skyactiv-G 2.5, four-cylinder direct injection petrol engine with a 17.8 kWh high-capacity lithium-ion battery.
The petrol engine develops a maximum power output of 141 kW at 6,000 rpm and 261 Nm of torque whilst the electric motor delivers 129 kW of power and 270 Nm of torque from zero rpm.
This combination of engine and motor delivers a total system output of 241 kW and ample torque of 500 Nm.
The PHEV displays immense efficiency: WLTP combined fuel consumption is just 1.7 l/100 km, and WLTP combined CO2 emissions only 37 g/km. Electric motor-powered driving is up to 59km.
Developed using the ‘right sizing’ concept which calls for optimised displacement to improve both fuel and power efficiency, the 3,283 cc turbocharged inline-six-cylinder e-Skyactiv G petrol unit is mated to Mazda’s 48V Mild Hybrid System – M Hybrid Boost.
The e-Skyactiv G petrol hybrid returns a WLTP average fuel consumption of just 8.4 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of only 189 g/km. Headline outputs of 209 kW and 450 Nm put the CX-80 Hybrid as a front-runner in the segment.
Both powertrain options offer no compromise with a 2,500kg braked tow rating.
