At Armstrong’s, we’re excited to share a new chapter in our journey of automotive excellence. After two-and-a-half years of dedication and innovation—and a multi-stage $14 million investment—we proudly unveiled our state-of-the-art Porsche showroom and workshop in Wellington with an incredible opening event. We welcomed past and current Porsche customers, VIP guests, and many members of the wider Armstrong’s team to celebrate this milestone together.
This new facility not only boasts a stunning showroom design, improved layout, and seamless navigation for a superior customer experience, but it also sets a new benchmark for high-end luxury dealerships. Here, we will house the very latest and greatest Porsche models, while also offering a unique space to showcase special and rare vehicles. A highlight of our opening was the display of the ultra-rare, iconic Porsche Carrera GT—a true automotive masterpiece.
Since Rick Armstrong founded our company in 1993, we have grown organically into a leading importer and distributor, representing 19 of the world’s most prestigious automotive brands across 18 dealerships in Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland. Today, under the leadership of CEO Troy Kennedy, our commitment to quality, innovation, and community continues to drive us forward.
As CEO Troy Kennedy explains,
“Over the past three decades, Armstrong’s has pursued an organic growth strategy, building and diversifying a leading automotive brand portfolio, coupled with a strategic real estate portfolio across Dunedin, Wellington, Christchurch, and Auckland. Wellington has always been a cornerstone of our operations and remains central to our long-term plans. The new Porsche showroom and workshop are testament to this commitment, and we’ve had a fantastic team of local designers and builders involved, stimulating activity for a number of local businesses and some great people. The workshop will also be home to a team of highly trained and skilled automotive technicians capable of servicing a wide range of vehicles, from traditional internal combustion engines to high-tech electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrids. The workshop is equipped with special EV bays, inground hoists, and even a bunker to handle the new breed of cars. While the current economic climate is very difficult for a lot of people, we fundamentally believe in taking a long-term approach rather than shrinking in the short term – and this approach has proven itself through major economic events from the GFC to the cycle we’re confronting today.”
We invite you to visit our new Porsche showroom and experience first-hand the future of automotive luxury and service in Wellington. Join us as we continue to innovate and drive forward—making lasting contributions to the local community and the world of premium automotive excellence.
